Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Charitable Status.

John Gormley

Question:

809 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the processes in place in relation to the operation of certain bodies which have been afforded charitable status; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1296/99]

I understand that the Deputy's question is directed towards matters connected with the general regulation and supervision of charities. These matters will fall to be addressed in legislation which will give effect to the recommendations contained in the report of the committee on fund-raising activities for charitable and other purposes and the subsequent report of the advisory group on charities/fund-raising legislation.
