Written Answers. - School Staffing.

John Bruton

Question:

893 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will appoint a remedial teacher to serve the needs of the national schools in Stamullen, Rathkenny, Yellow Furze and Kentstown, County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28445/98]

John Bruton

Question:

922 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will appoint a second remedial teacher to serve the needs of Kentstown, Yellow Furze, Rathkenny and Stackallen national schools, County Meath, in view of the fact there is one remedial teacher covering the four schools, spending less than half a week in each area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1248/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 893 and 922 together.

The issue raised by the Deputy will be considered by my Department in the context of arrangements which are being made to extend the remedial service to every primary school in the country with effect from September next.
