968 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science the provisions for extra funding made available to schools in order to introduce the new leaving certificate courses in chemistry and physics; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1530/99]
The Deputy will be aware that I have indicated recently that a number of measures are being contemplated within my Department in relation to the introduction of the new leaving certificate courses in chemistry and in physics from September 2000. Plans are almost finalised and I intend to announce these in the very near future.
