I propose to take Questions Nos. 984 and 988 together.

An application from the boards of management, for an amalgamation of the two primary schools in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, has been received in my Department. A detailed examination of the application is being carried out at present. I have asked that the matter be expedited and brought to an early conclusion. My Department will be in contact with the boards of management as soon as possible.
