Vol. 499 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Admissions.

Liam Aylward

Question:

96 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made for the immediate admission of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow to St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin 4, for urgent surgery in view of the physical and psychological suffering he is going through. [3150/99]

The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of hospital appointments is solely a matter for the relevant hospital personnel to determine based upon clinical priority.

I have, therefore, advised the chief executive officer at St. Vincent's of the Deputy's concerns and have asked him to reply directly to the Deputy in this regard as a matter of urgency.
