96 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made for the immediate admission of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow to St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin 4, for urgent surgery in view of the physical and psychological suffering he is going through. The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of hospital appointments is solely a matter for the relevant hospital personnel to determine based upon clinical priority.
I have, therefore, advised the chief executive officer at St. Vincent's of the Deputy's concerns and have asked him to reply directly to the Deputy in this regard as a matter of urgency.
