Vol. 500 No. 1

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

John Perry

Question:

207 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that an appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo who is out of work since October 1998 was cancelled due to the fact the health board concerned would not meet the cost of the operation; if he will authorise this person to travel to England for the necessary surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3194/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board to investigate this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
