Vol. 500 No. 1

Written Answers - Visa Applications

Enda Kenny

Question:

290 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the decision to refuse a permanent entry visa for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be reversed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3542/99]

The person referred to currently has permission to remain in the State as a third level student and can seek renewal of that permission on an annual basis in the normal way.

My Department has also received an application for naturalisation from the person in question. This application is in the early stages of processing and it is likely to be much later this year before a recommendation is made to me as to whether or not I should naturalise him.
