Question:

415 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 1032 of 27 January 1999, he will indicate the precise extent of the schedule of facilities proposed for provision at the school including recreational, physical education, academic and technical facilities; the total pupil compliment currently and anticipated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The proposed extension to the school referred to by the Deputy has a gross floor area of 2,088m2 and includes the following:

5General Classrooms

1Science Laboratory and Preparation Area

1Mechanical Drawing Room

1Home Economics Room

1Junior Woodwork Room and Store

1Junior Metalwork Room and Store

1Technology Room and Store

1Sports Hall with Changing Areas

2Special Tuition Room with Store

1Book Room

Also Pastoral, Toilets and Cloaks Area, Projects Store and Circulation.

The accommodation needs of the school are based on a long-term enrolment projection of 850 pupils.
