Vol. 500 No. 2

Written Answers. - Home-School Liaison Scheme.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

182 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science when a home and school liaison teacher will be appointed to St. John of God school, The Faythe, Wexford, which has been designated disadvantaged since 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3770/99]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department is currently making arrangements for the extension of the home/school/community liaison service to all primary schools which have disadvantaged areas status.

The extension of the service will come into effect from September next. The school to which the Deputy refers will be included in the service from that date.
