185 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will appoint a childcare assistant to Little Island national school, County Cork, for the reasons outlined in an application made by the principal of the school. [3824/99]
I am aware of the application to which the Deputy refers.
My Department's inspectorate has been asked to investigate the case made by the school in question. A report is awaited from the inspector and as soon as it is received urgent consideration will be given to the allocation of a special needs assistant post to the school.
