Róisín Shortall

Question:

114 Ms Shortall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she has satisfied herself that a company (details supplied) in Dublin 2 fulfils all the regulations required of it by company law; if her investigations into the company are complete; the plans, if any, she has to deal with this matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3872/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 112 and 114 together.

Certain allegations regarding breaches of the companies Acts by The Wise Finance Company Limited were made to our Department. The Wise Finance Company Limited was incorporated in the UK and registered as a branch in this State on 10 November 1995 under the European Communities (Branch Disclosures) Regulations, 1993. The allegations were examined by our officials and a comprehensive reply issued from this Department, in the matter on 1 February last.

In the light of the evidence currently available to us, I am not in a position to take any further action in this case under the companies Acts.
