Vol. 500 No. 6

Written Answers. - Educational Projects.

Richard Bruton

Question:

125 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if mainstream funding will be provided for the early focus project, Bason Lane girls national school, which is having a very positive impact for the children involved and for which there is a waiting list of 20. [4712/99]

I am aware of the positive work carried out under the project in question in Basin Lane school and also in the adjacent CBS national school, James's Street.

My Department has already allocated an ex-quota teaching post on a shared basis to the projects in question.

The operation of these projects, including the question of resourcing, is currently under review in my Department. The schools will be contacted as soon as the review has been completed.
