39 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the executive chairman of Aer Lingus has reported to her on the detailed discussions with prospective partners in relation to the strategic alliance for Aer Lingus; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4560/99]

The chairman of Aer Lingus briefs me in general terms from time to time in relation to the ongoing discussions with other airlines. He has advised me that he expects to be in a position to submit a formal report on the outcome of the discussions in mid to late April of this year.
