Vol. 500 No. 6

Written Answers. - Electricity Generation.

Jan O'Sullivan

Question:

44 Ms. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the waste to energy plant promoters have responded to her last letter to them in which she responded to issues raised by them in relation to the plant proposed for Goddamendy; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4587/99]

The promoters of the 30 MWe waste-to-energy electricity generation plant at Goddamendy, County Dublin, have not submitted any definitive statement about their future plans for the project.

The conditions of the competition (AER II) included, inter alia, an obligation on the successful applicant to submit evidence of access to the waste fuel source over the life of the associated proposed power purchase agreement with the Electricity Supply Board. No such evidence has yet been adduced.
