166 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the circumstances regarding the early release of a person (details supplied) who was sentenced to four years imprisonment in October 1997 for dangerous driving causing a death; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed that at a hearing in the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 12 November 1998 the presiding judge suspended the remainder of the sentence in this case. I am also informed that on 22 February 1999 the High Court granted leave to the State to apply for judicial review of the Circuit Court judge's decision of 12 November 1998. As this matter is sub judice it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment.
