Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Stanton – the need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to secure a replacement company to continue vegetable processing in Midleton following the announcement by Universal Foods Limited that it intends to close its vegetable freezing plant; (2) Deputy Wall – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the current and future level of funding available for support groups for children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; (3) Deputy Penrose – the operation of the grant scheme for well boring and upgrading whereby applicants are being refused where their water supply is shared with neighbours; (4) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to address the fact that more than 80 per cent of landlords operating within the private rented sector have yet to register with their local authority; (5) Deputy O'Sullivan – the measures the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform intends to take to counter the widespread discrimination and marginalisation that exists in Ireland, as evidenced by the recent survey conducted by the Sisters of Mercy, Western Province; (6) Deputy Allen – the need to discuss the closure of the Liebert factory at Bishopstown, Cork, with the loss of 150 permanent jobs; (7) Deputy Neville – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to complete major structural refurbishment of Kilfinane primary school.

The matters raised by Deputies Allen, Stanton, Penrose and O'Sullivan have been selected for discussion.
