214 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance if an application for a C2 sub-contractor's certificate by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be granted in view of the fact he has a substantial contract on hand; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6979/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer applied for a C2 certificate on 23 February 1999. This application is currently being processed by the inspector and the C2 will issue as soon as possible.
