Vol. 501 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Projects.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

218 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department has received a submission from the Eastern Health Board regarding the development of St. Colmcille Hospital, Loughlinstown; if his Department has met with the board or hospital regarding the matter; the considerations, if any, he is giving to the proposals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7540/99]

The future development of St. Colmcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown, is a matter, in the first instance for the Eastern Health Board. The board has developed proposals for a comprehensive upgrading of facilities at the hospital. Officials from my Department recently met with a delegation from the Eastern Health Board and St. Colmcille's Hospital to discuss the development proposals for the hospital. This submission is being processed by my Department, in consultation with the Eastern Health Board.
