Question:

340 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will assist in a material way in respect of any of the projects proposed in anticipation of the summer 1999 festivities planned for the Royal Canal at Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock, County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7181/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 339 and 340 together.

Officials of my Department have had discussions with the Royal Canal Amenity Group-Jubilee Rally Committee in regard to the provision of assistance for the proposed rally next August. Agreement has been reached to provide a range of facilities at a number of locations along the canal, including Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock.
