79 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the cost of implementing the main recommendations of the expert group on the probation and welfare service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4776/99]

The overall cost of implementing the main recommendations in the first report of the expert group on the probation and welfare service is estimated at £5.3 million. This does not take into account the provision of office accommodation for staff.
