Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Question:

203 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will pay grant aid under the new farm building scheme to farmers who have carried out work to comply with the REP scheme since he took office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7766/99]

It is a strict condition for the award of grant aid under any of the on-farm investment schemes that the prior written approval of the Department must be obtained before the commencement of development work. It is proposed that the new national aid schemes presently awaiting European Commission approval will also include this condition and consequently works commenced prior to the introduction of the schemes will not qualify for grant aid.

The documents recently submitted by the person named as a result of further communication from my Department have been processed by the area aid unit. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

206 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cull ewe scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [7855/99]

Payment will be made to the person named shortly.

Michael Ring

Question:

207 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the further payments, if any, due to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo under the fodder scheme. [7856/99]

The person named does not appear to be the registered owner of a herd number. If the Deputy will provide details regarding a herd number for the person named, my Department will examine the matter. The person named has not submitted an application for the 1999 special fodder hardship scheme.
