Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

209 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 headage and premia. [7858/99]

As stated in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 171 of 2 March 1999 in this matter, herdowners must submit a valid area aid application for the relevant year in order to be considered for payment of headage grants. The person named did not submit an area aid application in 1998, and consequently payments cannot issue in respect of his 1998 sheep headage application. However, if the person named forwards a postal certificate as proof of postage and a copy of his original application, my Department will have it processed.

John Browne

Question:

210 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason 1998 headage payments due to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford have not been paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7879/99]

The person named was not an applicant under any of the 1998 headage schemes other than the 1998 sheep headage scheme for which payment issued on 10 March 1999.

Payment of the final instalment under the 1998 ewe premium scheme was made on 10 March 1999 and an advance payment under the 1998 special beef premium issued on 15 March 1999.
