Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

257 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if an additional fodder relief payment will be released for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8282/99]

The person named was paid his full entitlement under the 1998 winter fodder scheme and qualifies for a top-up of 50 per cent under the 1999 scheme. My Department is currently finalising arrangements for this scheme and it is hoped to commence payment within the next week.

Question:

258 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will have his sheep headage payment released; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8500/99]

The person named did not apply under the 1998 sheep headage or ewe premium schemes and therefore did not qualify for any payment. He has however submitted an application under both schemes for 1999 and if his application is found to be in order payments will issue in due course. Payments under the ewe premium scheme usually commence at end of June/early July and payments under the sheep headage scheme usually commence in September.
