300 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that the Office of Public Works is fully year 2000 compliant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8252/99]

Year 2000 compliance work within the Office of Public Works has been under way since 1997. The Office of Public Works reports its progress toward achieving compliance to the Interdepartmental Year 2000 Monitoring Committee and is confident that it will be fully year 2000 compliant by the deadline of 31 July 1999 set by this committee.

301 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that the office of the Ombudsman is fully year 2000 compliant. [8253/99]

An Interdepartmental Year 2000 Monitoring Committee was established by the Government in 1997 to oversee the achievement of year 2000 compliance in the Civil Service. This committee, which is chaired by my Department, monitors the progress of all Departments/offices and reports in this regard to Government every two months.

The Office of the Ombudsman completes its year 2000 compliance programme in February 1999.

An Interdepartmental year 2000 Monitoring Committee was established by the Government in 1997 to oversee the achievement of year 2000 compliance in the Civil Service. This committee, which is chaired by my Department, monitors the progress of all Departments/offices and reports in this regard to Government every two months.

The Office of the Revenue Commissioners has a comprehensive year 2000 compliance programme in place. Work has been ongoing since 1996 and is well advanced at this stage. Most of the critical remedial and testing work has been completed. The programme is firmly on schedule for completion in July 1999.

An Interdepartmental Year 2000 Monitoring Committee was established by the Government in 1997 to oversee the achievement of year 2000 compliance in the Civil Service. This committee, which is chaired by my Department, monitors the progress of all Departments/offices and reports in this regard to Government every two months.

The Valuation Office has a well-managed year 2000 compliance programme in place which is on schedule for completion in June 1999. Office equipment and plant items are now compliant. All year 2000 work on important IT systems will be completed by April 1999. Some outstanding work on minor IT systems will be completed by June 1999.
