Deirdre Clune

Question:

332 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Health and Children the financial commitment, if any, he will make to the proposed specialist rehabilitation hospital in the Southern Health Board region; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7848/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 331 and 332 together.

I understand from the Southern Health Board that the development of a community led rehabilitation service is currently being examined by the board and that discussions are on-going with the Rehab Group to develop a joint proposal for the establishment of a specialist rehabilitation service for the region. I will be happy to consider any proposals that the Southern Health Board may make following the conclusion of these discussions.
