Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

347 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide a breakdown of all national lottery funding allocated by his Department in 1998; the individual bodies to whom funds were allocated; and the amount in each case. [7922/99]

My Department allocated a total of £25.89 million from national lottery funds in 1998. The amounts allocated are set out in the following table:

£m

Capital Programme

6.000

Services administered by Health Agencies

13.159

Allocations to health agencies to fund the Respite Care Grants Scheme, the Scheme of Grants to Voluntary Organisations and the Disadvantaged Youth Scheme

4.432

Discretionary Lottery Allocations

2.299

The capital allocation of £6 million is part of my Department's capital programme of £147 million for 1998. The £13.159 million and £4.432 million are part of the overall resources available to fund health services and, as such, are part of the non-capital determination process. The remaining £2.299 million for discretionary lottery allocations was distributed as set out in the following table.
