Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the delays in the issuing of car registration certificates; the steps, if any, he intends to take to speed up the issuing of these certificates; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I assume the Deputy is referring to the issue of change of ownership documents. I refer to the reply to Question No. 114 of 28 January 1999, which sets out the position in relation to this matter. I expect that the backlog will be cleared over the coming months.
