Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

578 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are 21 children assessed for remedial teaching in Scoil an Spiorad Naoimh, Laytown, County Meath; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that one of these children is disabled; if he will immediately provide a teacher for this school as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7619/99]

I understand that the school in question already has the services of a remedial teacher and a shared resource teacher post.

I am arranging to have my Department's inspectorate investigate the needs of the school with a view to determining whether any additional special support is warranted.
