145 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if staff members of his Department have received funding to attend courses; if so, the number of courses attended; the names of the courses; and the amount paid since June 1997. [7582/99]
The Department of Foreign Affairs refunds its officials the cost of attending certain courses. This is in addition to courses arranged directly by the Department. The source for such funding is the annual Departmental budgetary allocation for training and development of staff generally. Since June 1997 reimbursement was made in respect of attendance at the following 54 centres:
