Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Question:

140 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will extend the income limits for the local authority shared ownership scheme in view of the 27 per cent house increase during 1998; the proposals, if any, he has to allow additional people to gain the benefits of this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8546/99]

A significant improvement to the income eligibility limit for the Shared Ownership Scheme, equivalent to an increase from £15,000 to £20,000 for a single income household, was introduced under the Government's Action on House Prices. The terms of the scheme are kept under review.
