Vol. 502 No. 4

Written Answers. - Boyne Valley Project.

John Bruton

Question:

149 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if her attention has been drawn to the fact that £1.2 million was allocated towards a number of projects identified in the integrated development plan for the Boyne Valley; the projects approved for funding from this allocation; the amount of money spent to date on each of the projects; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8455/99]

The projects to which the Deputy refers comprise a sub-programme of the Boyne Valley Integrated Development Plan which, as outlined in my reply Questions Nos. 306 and 307 of 2 March 1999, includes the development of a long distance riverside walkway between Slane and Oldbridge, and improved access and information at Bective Abbey, Slane and Loughcrew.

To date, expenditure of some £520,000 has been incurred in respect of the riverside walkway and no expenditure has been incurred yet on the other projects.
