150 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the steps, if any, she has taken in Údarás negotiations with an American company (details supplied) proposing to create employment in north Mayo; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8524/99]
Negotiations with third parties regarding the establishment of industries in the Gaeltacht is a matter solely for Údarás na Gaeltachta and I have no function in the matter. For the information of the Deputy, however, I understand from An tÚdarás that the company in question has decided not to proceed with the proposed project.
An tÚdarás is now pursuing a number of alternative proposals for the north Mayo region.
