Whistleblowers Protection Bill, 1999: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill to provide protection from civil liability and penalisation to employees who make certain protective disclosures in relation to the affairs of their employers and to provide for related matters, The Whistleblowers Protection Bill, 1999.

As the Bill is not opposed I declare the motion for leave to introduce agreed. Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.
