Question:

213 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received any request from the Department of Defence in respect of the future employment prospects for the teaching staff formerly employed at Devoy Barracks, Naas, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9541/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 206 and 213 together.

Two of the teaching staff formerly employed at Devoy Barracks, Naas, County Kildare, are currently employed in the Signals school, Curragh. My Department is actively pursuing the possibility of redeployment to institutes of technology for the remaining staff members in consultation with the staff concerned, their trade union and the Department of Defence.
