Vol. 504 No. 1

Written Answers. - Road Traffic Offences.

Tony Gregory

Question:

84 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the action, if any, the gardaí can take regarding vehicles (details supplied) which are not taxed or insured, are not owned by local residents and are causing concern locally. [11209/99]

The matter raised by the Deputy has been brought to the attention of the Garda authorities.

I have now been informed by the Garda authorities that the vehicles in question are no longer parked in the street referred to by the Deputy. However, details of these vehicles have been recorded by the gardaí at the Bridewell Garda station.

I have been assured by the Garda authorities that appropriate action will be taken by the gardaí in the event of an offence being detected.
