Vol. 504 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

283 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science the response his Department is making to the NCCA Special Education Steering Committee report; and the resources to be allocated for the implementation of its recommendations. [12152/99]

The report to which the Deputy refers has not been furnished to my Department.

I understand that the NCCA hope to present a set of preliminary guidelines to my Department later in the year. These guidelines are being formulated in relation to the curricula for children with special educational needs arising from a mild, moderate or severe-profound learning disability.
