47 Mr. Stagg asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the Government's proposals for the future of Irish Fertiliser Industries; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12228/99]
94 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress, if any, made on the issue of the sale of Irish Fertiliser Industries; the plans, if any, she has for the industry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12448/99]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 47 and 94 together.
Further to the agreement between the State and ICI to seek a joint sale of 100 per cent of Irish Fertilizer Industries, an information memorandum was issued to interested parties in early March. Two proposals were received by the closing date of 26 March. The process of evaluation and clarification has been ongoing since then.
We have now reached a crucial stage in the process and, in advance of further discussions with ICI, I do not propose to comment further on the matter at the present time.
