Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Finucane

Question:

108 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the balance of ten month and 22 month premia will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [12321/99]

Balancing payments under the 1998 special beef premium scheme will commence very shortly.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

109 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cavan will be paid a 1998 cattle headage scheme premium. [12333/99]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 3 March 1999 concerning his 1998 cattle headage application. Appeals are dealt with in the order in which they are received and require individual examination. This appeal will be examined in due course and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

Ulick Burke

Question:

110 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when all grants under the tuberculosis eradication scheme due to a person (details supplied) in County Galway will be paid in view of an error in recording a tag number at the processing plant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12334/99]

The husband of the above named person is the registered herdowner of the herd number quoted. Inquiries undertaken by my Department have confirmed that the meat plant involved paid the herdowner in respect of the slaughter value of the animals concerned. The herdowner has been invited into the Galway district veterinary office to examine the relevant records held in the DVO. TB reactor grants will be paid to the herdowner when the required tax clearance certificate is submitted to the district veterinary office. He has been reminded of this requirement on a number of occasions.

Austin Deasy

Question:

111 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a decision has been made regarding the applications under the installation aid scheme which were not lodged in his Department prior to the cessation of the previous scheme in August 1997 but were with Teagasc and private planners and do not qualify under the new scheme; and when he will make a decision in this regard. [12335/99]

A number of applications under the installation aid scheme were with Teagasc offices at the time the scheme was suspended on 7 August 1997. I am arranging with Teagasc to have these applications submitted to my Department for examination.

Such applications will be approved if they were at the same stage of completion as those applications which had been received in my Department at the time of the suspension of the scheme and which were subsequently approved. These were applications where evidence was provided that transfer documents had been lodged for registration in the Land Registry by 7 August 1997. Any similar applications with private planners will be eligible for processing in the same way.
