Question:66 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the balance of a REP scheme payment. [14143/99]
Written Answers. - Grant Payments.
The person concerned received a fourth year REPs payment on 8 February 1999. The payment was affected by the introduction of the euro, resulting in a reduction of approximately 5 per cent in the payment.
Compensation will be payable in 1999 in relation to the reduction in REPs payments. Approval of the EU Commission is necessary before compensation will be paid. A submission has been made to the commission in this regard.
