Question:

163 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be called for a hip operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14460/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

164 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who is on the emergency list at Tallaght Hospital for knee surgery will be admitted for treatment without further delay. [14472/99]

The provision of treatment in this case is a matter, in the first instance, for the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Dublin, incorporating the National Children's Hospital. I have therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.

165 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 will be given urgent attention in view of the fact she is awaiting surgery for a heart valve replacement for over two years and has been informed that it will be at least early in 2000 before she will be attended to. The provision of treatment in this case is the responsibility, in the first instance, of St. James's Hospital. I have therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
