Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Irish Citizenship.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

228 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 will be allowed stay in Ireland in view of the circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14462/99]

The person in question has applied for permission to remain in the State as the parent of an Irish born child. My Department currently has on hand a large number of similar applications and I expect to be in a position to take decisions on these cases in the near future.
