Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

229 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has for the development, refurbishment or replacement of Garda stations in Inishowen in view of the fact that some facilities are in poor order; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14476/99]

It is proposed to build a new Garda station at Muff. However, due to overall priorities, it is unlikely that this project will commence for some time.

The Office of Public Works has been asked to carry out a feasibility study at Buncrana to ascertain if the existing site is big enough to accommodate some additional requirements there. Maintenance projects are under consideration by the Garda housing officer in relation to Malin, Clonmany and Burnfoot.
