Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Liam Aylward

Question:

281 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have a care assistant appointed to Dunamaggan national school, County Kilkenny, where the Department inspector is aware of the situation and medical evidence has been submitted in support of the application. [14549/99]

I am aware that the school in question has made application to my Department for the appointment of a child care assistant.

The school's application is currently being examined by my Department's inspectorate with a view to determining the precise level of support required by the school to cater for the special needs children enrolled there. The school will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.
