Vol. 506 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

165 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department has received an application for 1996 cattle headage from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if this grant will be paid as soon as possible. [14968/99]

Without a valid area aid application for the relevant year, headage payments cannot issue to a herdowner. The person named did not submit an area aid application in 1996 and consequently, in accordance with clause 20 of the terms and conditions governing the 1996 cattle headage scheme, payment cannot issue in respect of his application for grants under this scheme.
