Vol. 506 No. 6

Written Answers. - Pharmacy Services.

Liz McManus

Question:

64 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the need to grant a pharmacy contractor agreement to St. James's late night pharmacy; the likelihood of this being granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16056/99]

Under the Health (Community Pharmacy Contractor Agreement) Regulations, 1996, the determination of an application for a community pharmacy contractor agreement is a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. It is also a matter for the chief executive officer to determine if there is a definite public health need, under the regulations, for community pharmacy services in a particular area.
