Vol. 507 No. 3

Written Answers. - Control of Farm Pollution Scheme.

Paul Bradford

Question:

133 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he will formally announce and provide applications for the control of farmyard pollution grant scheme; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are many farmers, particularly applicants for the REP scheme, who wish to apply for this scheme as a matter of urgency. [16967/99]

As I announced last week, the terms of a national scheme for the control of farm pollution have been approved by the European Commission and the scheme is now open to applicants. Application forms for the scheme are available from the offices of the farm development service of my Department. The scheme is targeted at those farmers most in need of support and is directed at farmers participating in the rural environment protection scheme or following a nutrient management plan.
