Vol. 507 No. 3

Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.

John Ellis

Question:

178 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to bring in legislation to control private investigators. [16851/99]

As I have indicated to the House on a number of occasions in reply to previous questions, a Bill to give effect to the recommendations contained in the report of the consultative group on the private security industry for regulation of the industry forms part of the Government's legislation programme. Work on the heads of the legislation is in progress in my Department and the details will be announced in the usual way in due course.
