Vol. 507 No. 4

Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Schemes.

Joe Higgins

Question:

176 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if Dublin Corporation requested him subsequent to the publication of the Ballymun masterplan, for a formal written commitment setting out the cost elements, with the phasing arrangements for receipt of the grant instalments outside of the normal annual funding allocations, for which the corporation will receive funding for the works proposed by Ballymun Regeneration Limited; and, if so, his reply in this regard. [17205/99]

Dublin Corporation was notified by my Department on 8 June 1998 that capital funding for the redevelopment of Ballymun may be drawn down from my Department as work progresses on housing construction projects. The capital provision for the redevelopment of Ballymun is in addition to the provision for the local authority housing programme and is included under a separate subhead in my Department's Vote.
