Vol. 507 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Seán Ryan

Question:

234 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science if school transport will be arranged for September 1999 for a person (details supplied) in St Margaret's, County Dublin, who has secured a place in the special unit for children with learning difficulties in St. Oliver Plunkett's national school, Malahide; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17075/99]

My Department has recently received an application for the provision of a special transport service for the pupil in question.

Bus Éireann, who operates the transport service on behalf of my Department, is currently investigating the provision of this service. Following receipt of a report from Bus Éireann, the child's family will be contacted regarding proposed transport arrangements.
