Vol. 507 No. 4

Written Answers. - Public Health Inspections.

John Perry

Question:

94 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Sligo has a liquid milk system on his farm and is not required to a carry out the proposed recommendation as his farm is not subject to Departmental inspection; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17020/99]

I understand that the person named is registered as a liquid milk supplier and therefore his holding is subject to inspection by the public health protection services of the local authority.

I should point out, however, that in the event of a local authority not being in a position to carry out such inspection, it is open to my Department to do so.
